Two
sisters, Latifa and Mariam, were separated from their family and from each
other after the nakba in 1948. Life and marriage took them to
different worlds, in refugee camps, where they were subjected to more wars
and occupation. One ended up in Lebanon and the other in a West Bank
village. For 20 years, the sisters stayed in contact with each other through
radio messages until they died. Years later, a rediscovered photograph that
survived the exodus, destruction, and death travels back from Lebanon to
Palestine, reconnecting the two families. Over the course of this journey,
we learn about the story of a woman's
strength and determination to overcome hardships and to carry on with her
life, and the value of family and children in situations of chronic
conflict.

On the 28th of September 2000, a new
wave of clashes erupted between the Israeli army and the Palestinian people
in the Occupied Territories. Many children were killed or injured as a
result of the violence...
Memories of a Child is a documentary that examines the impact of this violence on children's mental health. It highlights their immediate life experiences and how they struggle with death, danger and pain on a daily basis. This film focuses on Nidal, a twelve-year-old boy, who spends his time playing "war" with his friends and watching people he knows become victims of the conflict. The documentary offers an insight into how children strive to survive a conflict that threatens their dreams, aspirations, and their lives.
