Data Analysis and Visualization in Power BI for Health Professionals

As part of our training series entitled “Research for Health Professionals” aiming at developing and enhancing research skills and capabilities of health professionals working in health-related institutions (governmental and non-governmental), the Institute of Community and Public Health (ICPH) at Birzeit University is excited to announce an upcoming hands-on training module designed to introduce participants to Microsoft Power BI as a powerful tool for data visualization and dashboard creation. This training is ideal for professionals looking to enhance their data analysis skills and gain practical experience in using Power BI for creating insightful, interactive dashboards.

Training Objectives:

•    Introduction to Microsoft Power BI: Learn how to use Power BI as an effective tool for data visualization and creating dynamic dashboards.

•    Key Data Concepts: Gain an understanding of essential data concepts such as datasets, data types, data dictionaries, data categories, and open data.

Learn how these concepts are applied throughout the stages of a data analysis project and explore the corresponding functions of Power BI at each stage.

•    Hands-on Practice with Your Own Data: Get the chance to work with your own data, applying descriptive and bivariate statistics, and creating compelling visualizations.

•    Understanding Visualization Tools: Gain insight into the different types of charts and visualizations available in Power BI, and learn how to choose the right one for your data and project goals.

•    Project Planning: Learn the fundamental elements of planning a data analytics project, including setting clear objectives, organizing data, and preparing for analysis. Real-world data will be used in demonstrations to illustrate effective planning strategies.

•    From Planning to Implementation: Learn the step-by-step process from data analysis planning to implementation on Power BI, and see how to translate your plan into effective, visual insights.

•    Building and Presenting Dashboards: Learn how to create interactive dashboards that highlight key aspects of your data and make easier understanding to your insights

•    Presentation Skills: Prepare and present your dashboards to the class, demonstrating the successful implementation of the skills you've learned during the training.

•    Ongoing Support: Receive guidance and feedback throughout the training, and have the opportunity for follow-up support as you continue to develop your Power BI skills.

The Power BI training module is scheduled to take place on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, remotely via Zoom, for around 8 two-hour sessions starting 14 December 2024.
