Introduction to Advocacy Communication
Dates: Saturdays 16, 23, 30 November 2024

The Institute of Community and Public Health (ICPH) at Birzeit University is pleased to announce the continuation of its training series entitled “Research for Health Professionals”. This training series aims at developing and enhancing research skills and capabilities of health professionals working in health-related institutions (governmental and non-governmental), and comes as a continuation of previous series conducted by ICPH. This series will expand from November 2024 to February 2025 and will start with a training entitled “Introduction to Advocacy Communication”.

This training will be conducted from remote via Zoom, where participants will learn what is advocacy, what are communications for advocacy and why they are important, what are types of advocacy, how to build a strategy for advocacy communications, how to choose and message your audience, the Importance of having good spokespersons, why Interviews are important, learn about International Human Rights Law and its violations, understand how healthcare personnel can save lives and advocate for human rights and policy change.

Certificates of participation will be issued at the end of the series for those who 1) attend all the series sessions 2) commit to deliver all tasks and assignments provided by trainers.

The other two sessions will be on “Data analysis using Power BI” and “Qualitative data analysis”.

Due to the limited number of participants that we can accommodate, priority of participation will be given to those who work in research or their work requires research skills.
